We’ve come to believe we all need a bit more quality time — with ourselves, our families, and the people we love.
The kind of time that pulls us away from our digital world and back into real moments. Fotoshoot was born from that idea — of trying something new, having an experience, and simply being present.
When you step into our studio, it’s not about performing for a camera — it’s about exploring. You can be serious, be silly, experiment with poses and expressions — or just see what happens.
It’s familiar, because we all take selfies, but here it becomes something deeper. The space gives you room to play, to connect with yourself, and maybe even to see yourself differently. So the resulting professional photographs are not the only outcome.
What excites us most about Fotoshoot is that quiet moment of self-discovery people have at their fotoshoot and also when they see their photos.
The way the camera and mirror can shift from something confronting to something empowering. It’s a reminder that we’re all different, all human, and all perfectly ourselves — and that’s something worth celebrating.
Our Story
Last summer our little family — a mom, two adult kids and one big dog — went on a road trip to explore our roots. Scouring archives, meeting elders, rejoicing over old addresses found and long-lost photos that surfaced, we felt connected.
That trip reminded us how much we love experiences that feel real — the kind you laugh through, or even stress through a little, because those are the ones that stay with you and grow you.
Fotoshoot grew from that feeling. It’s our way of creating space for others to pause, explore, and capture something genuine — a small reflection of who they are right now.
“Somewhere between the historic towns, family stories, and long drives, I realised I was craving more time that actually felt like time — especially now that my kids are grown.”
What Matters to Us
Fotoshoot isn’t just about great photos — it’s about creating an experience that feels good, does good, and helps people see themselves in a new light. The way we show up as a team and a business matters just as much as the experiences we help create.
How We Show Up
At Fotoshoot, we care about how we show up — as a business, as a creative space, and as a part of our community. We aim to be thoughtful and intentional in the way we work, collaborate, and support causes that reflect our values.
We believe photography should be joyful, empowering, and accessible — and that everyone deserves to see themselves represented and celebrated.
Our Current Actions
We’re committed to creating a space that is genuinely open and welcoming to everyone. Our studio and self-shoot experience are designed to be safe, inclusive, and free from discrimination of any kind — where every person can feel seen, respected, and comfortable expressing themselves.
Our visual identity is intentionally diverse. We believe representation matters, and we want everyone who visits or interacts with Fotoshoot to feel that they belong here.
We’re also committed to supporting people in our local communities who might not otherwise have access to this kind of experience - to take part in what we do, we aim to make the empowering, confidence-boosting, and fun experience of self-photography available to more people.
We’re here to keep learning, keep improving, and keep creating a space where everyone feels at home.
